About The Holt County Cancer Fund

A Helping Hand
1. The Holt County Cancer Fund, Inc. (HCCFI) was established in 2011 as a 501 (c) (3) organization.

2. Its purpose is to provide monetary assistance to Holt County, MO residents for transportation costs incurred during cancer treatments
outside of Holt County.

3. Funding began with $200 and has continually increased.

4. HCCFI has paid out over $140,000 to cancer patients. Funding is not a one-time offer. Some cancer patients have been funded
twice and some three times. An additional application for funding may be submitted 12 months from the date of the last application if
treatment continues outside of Holt County.

5. The Cans for Cancer Project collected aluminum cans throughout the communities in Holt County, Missouri with collection rings at
Big Lake, Forest City, Maitland, Mound City, and Oregon. Currently, the only collection site is on Hwy. 111 between Oregon and Forest City.

6. The recycling of 106,000 pounds of aluminum cans has brought over $60,000 to the fund.

7. Each year HCCFI hosts a fundraising biscuit, sausage, and gravy breakfast in March in Oregon, MO. Many different fundraising activities
have been held since 2011.

8. Holt County residents have been very supportive of the fund. HCCFI has been selected as a memorial recipient by several families.
Other organizations and businesses have held fundraising events for HCCFI's benefit.

9. HCCFI officers and committee members are volunteer workers. No one receives a salary.
